Huﬁson Lawrence, a New Jersian by birth, enlisted in Company F, 7th
H.Y. étato filitia on April 29, 1861. He becane a 1st Lt. in the
18th U.; Infantry, lay 1%, 1861. He rose to Captain on October 25,
1861. Un Novoubor 9, 1863 he became Colonel of the 34th N.J.V.I.
frOi which service he resigned on August 3, 1865. He resigned from
sorvico in the Regular Arny 11 days later on August 1%, 1865. He

was bravettod {ajor and Lt. Colonel larch 13, 1865 for gallant and
loritorious service during the war and Vrig. Genl. of Vols. on ﬂarch
17, 1865 for faithful and neritorious service during the ﬁar.
