- See also the John M. Prewitt papers (1F55M-171). This typescript is a genealogical history of the Prewitt family of Kentucky written by Lester D. Prewitt of Fairfield, Iowa. Prewitt traces the Kentucky genealogy of the Prewitt family. The volume also covers variant spellings of the name, including Prewet(t), Pruit(t), Pruet(t) and Preuit(t). The genealogy contains a table of contents and an index.
