Collection Overview
- Biography / History
- Edward Alvey of Marion County, Kentucky, killed James Bullock on March 11, 1889, and was eventually convicted of Bullock's murder. Alvey claimed to have shot and killed James Bullock in defense of his brother, Tom, whom Bullock was in the process of beating in the head with a plank after an altercation erupted when their wagon broke down.

- The Edward Alvey court documents (dated 1889; 0.05 cubic feet; 1 folder) consist of documents relating to the murder of James Bullock in Marion County, Kentucky, on March 11, 1889. They include three subpoenas for witnesses, three signed witness statements, a verdict signed by each member of the jury, and an arrest warrent.
