- Biography / History
- Farmer. Charles Julian was born in Virginia. He represented Stafford County in that state's legislature, then, in 1812 came to Kentucky with his wife Jennie Moore Julian, and their children. In Kentucky, he was one of the directors of the Commonwealth Bank and the Bank of Kentucky. His son Alexander married Bettie C. Laughlin in 1853; she died in 1877, leaving seven children.

- This journal includes hints on farming, diagrams of planting, including contour plowing, statements on the best procedures for journeying westward, and lists of the children of Charles Julian and of his son, Alexander Julian.

The Breckinridge Research Room will be closed starting May 11, 2026, and anticipates re-opening Fall semester 2026 in an alternate location for the duration of the King Library renovation.
