- The materials consist of handwritten genealogies for the Bonner, Cloyse and Cason families of western Kentucky. Each family tree is treated in detail. The Bonner family, which is traced back to 18th century North Carolina, settled in Hickman County, Kentucky sometime before 1830. Elizabeth Bonner then married into the Asbell family which is listed in this genealogy. The history of the Cloyse family begins in 17th century Maine. They settled in Christian County, Kentucky by the early 19th century. The Cason family goes back to the 17th century Carolinas with their settlement in Kentucky occuring about 1856. Besides names and dates, there are details about certain individuals along with anecdotes about the Cason family.

The Breckinridge Research Room will be closed starting May 11, 2026, and anticipates re-opening Fall semester 2026 in an alternate location for the duration of the King Library renovation.
