Collection Overview
- Biography / History
- In January 1925, Floyd Collins (1890-1925) became trapped in Sand Cave, Kentucky, while exploring. After almost two weeks, Collins died from exposure and hunger. Throughout the two weeks Collins was trapper, William Burke Miller of Louisville Courier Journal, reported from Sand Cave, Kentucky. For his coverage, Miller received a Pulitzer Prize on May 4, 1926.

- The Drama of Floyd Collins are two annotated transcripts by William Burke Miller, of the Louisville Courier-Journal, on the story of Floyd Collins, an explorer who was trapped and eventually killed in the collapse of Sand Cave, Kentucky.
