Upon receipt 01 your wire June twentieth Mayor Overcash contac ed Mr.Geeting
showing him your telegram calling attention to instructions contained therein
also absence of an answer to his request for an inspector to assist in
conducting the poll and suggesting that they aoain wait a reasonable time

for a reply from you before appointment or this committee to which Mr.Geeting
was in hearty approval.In the meantime Mr.ueeting‘s conmitteeman and a local
grocerman from Pleasant Hill have circulated a petition among patrons mostly
or the old Pleasant Hill rural route.Instead or following your instructions
their petition does in no way reveal the unprejudiced facts which you
requested should be placed before the patrons of this rural route. I am
convinced the case justifies the service of a disinterested inepector. My
thought is by the time Mayor Overcash returns to the village which will be
next Tuesday you will have reiterated your instructions that an unprejudiced
statement should accompany any poll. There has been no poll taken and I
assure you Mayor Overcash always anxious to c00perate with you to give all
