- Biography / History
- Harry O. Wyse (1899-2001) was an engineer and contractor in Lexington, Kentucky. Wyse was involved in building many bridges and other infrastructure in Kentucky as well as neighboring states. Additionally, he built Stoll Field at the University of Kentucky and developed the Westmoreland Subdivision in Lexington, Ky. He was born in New Castle, New Brunswick, Canada. He married Esther Roberta Windsor (1900-1989); they had one child, Margaret Wyse.
- Scope and Content
- The Harry O. Wyse memoir (dated 1993; 0.02 cubic feet; 1 folder) comprises a typewritten memoir that documents Wyse's early life in Canada as well as his later career as a contractor and engineer in Lexington, Kentucky. The memoir mentions multiple bridges and other infrastructure projects he built throughout Kentucky. Additionally, it talks about his development of the Westmoreland Subdivision in Lexington as well as the construction of Stoll Field at the University of Kentucky.
