As a token of our sincere esteem, we, the l950 Graduating Class
of University High School, lovingly dedicate this volume to the late
William S, Taylor, who always aroused in us a respect for his un«
selfish character, high ideals, and loyal devotion to our schools
Dean Taylor became Dean of the College of Education of the Uni—
versity of Kentucky in l923 and until his untimely death in l949
held a position of distinction in Kentucky and in the nation. lt was
through his untiring efforts that our present building was financed
and built and it is with regret that the twentieth graduating class
to leave these halls will not have him with us‘ His spirit will accom-

from the University of Kentucky, He has held several important
positions in Kentucky, among which were teacher, coach, and ath-
letic director at Winchester, and principal at Owingsville, He is a
member of the Kiwanis Club, Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Delta Kappa, and
Pi Kappa Delta He has been director of the University School since
