Collection Overview
- Biography / History
- Politician. Haly was at one time Adjutant-General of the Kentucky State Guards. He was also a prominent figure in the state's Democratic Party and active in flood relief work in Louisville during the 1937 flood. He died of pneumonia in February 1937.
- Scope and Content
- The Percy Haly scrapbook (dated 1900-1937; 0.1 cubic feet; 1 reel) consists of a microfilm copy of the scrapbook, which contains newspaper clippings, photographs and other materials about Haly, his career, and his family. It also contains clippings about the Goebel-Taylor contest for governor in 1900 and a copy of Urey Woodson's June, 1931 speech before the Kentucky Press Association, entitled, "The Good Old Days."
