Collection Overview

Biography / History
Robert Leighton "Red" Sanders was a 1924 graduate of the University of Kentucky. He was a member of the UK Marching Band and a founding member of the old Blue and White Band at the University of Kentucky. Sanders was also a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, the Engineering Society, and a charter member of Phi Mu Alpha music fraternity.
Scope and Content
The Robert L. Sanders scrapbook consists of clippings regarding the University of Kentucky and Pi Kappa Alpha; photographs including the University of Kentucky Marching Band and Pi Kappa Alpha; and miscellaneous items including graduation programs and Pi Kappa Alpha materials. Also included are photographs and clippings related to University of Kentucky student life including the football and basketball teams. A damaged, panoramic photograph labeled "Co. D. Engineers, S.A.T.C., University of Kentucky, 1918." is also included.
