- Reuben T. Durrett founded the Public Library of Kentucky, housed in Louisville, in 1870.

- The collection contains a broadside for the Public Library of Kentucky entitled Official Report. Gifts distributed by lot among ticket-holders, at the Second Grand Gift Concert for the benefit of the Public Library of Kentucky, at Louisville, Ky., Saturday, December 7th 1872.
